The Zend Framework is an open source, an object oriented web app framework which is implemented in the PHP 5 & licensed under the new BSD license. The Zend framework is licensed by an open source initiative (OSI) approved New BSD license. For all the code contributors should sign a contributor license agreement (CLA) which is based on an Apache Software foundation’s CLA. The license & the contribution policies were established in order to prevent the intellectual property issues for commercial users.

The features of Zend framework contain: all components are completely object oriented PHP 5 & are E_STRICT compliant, has a use at will architecture with a loosely coupled component & some minimal interdependencies, extensible MVC implementation support layouts & templates based on PHP by default. The support for the multiple database systems & vendors contain Maria DB, MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SQLite & Informix Dynamic Server.

Email composition and delivery, retrieval through mbox, Maildir, POP3 & IMAP4, some flexible caching sub system with the support for many kinds of back ends like memory or file system. Zend Technologies offer a PHP stack, Zend Server that is advertised to be optimized for running the Zend framework apps. The Zend Server involves the Zend framework in its installers along with the PHP & all necessary extensions. Zend Studio is not available at no cost whereas the Zend framework & Zend server community editions are free of cost.

The Zend Server is compatible with a common debugging tool known as Xdebug. The code contributions to Zend framework are subjective to the rigorous code, documentation, & test standards. All the codes must match the ZF’s coding standards & the unit tests should reach 80 percent code coverage before the corresponding code can be moved to a released branch.

The Zend hosting images have been configured bottomed up by using the industry standard best practices for the security & performance optimisation and particularly tuned for the Zend Server. Many have also integrated the Zend Server into a control panel building it easier to manage, monitor & rebuild the Zend Server.

The control panel appears with an in-built file manager, the server monitoring system, tons of charts indicating the health & performance of our server & much more. Many are also known due to it's stellar support & knowledge of the PHP that also extends to managing our Zend Server. The staff is very heavily included in the PHP & Zend open source community & we have built a system by using the best practices which matches our Zend project.
